Not Prepared

This is the best way I can explain my life for the past 2 weeks.  You see I had gum grafting done 2 weeks ago.  I was told this was no big deal, I'd be back to work in no time and the recovery period was a piece of cake.  Well, my experience has been FAR from that, for sure!  It surely was a big deal.  By far the worst pain I have ever endured.  Was out of work for about a week, and the recovery has been nothing but a nightmare and a far cry from a "piece of cake!"  I'll leave out all the gory details and we will fast forward to today.  The packing covering the areas were removed today.  I have been looking forward to this day all week long.  In my mind I guess I thought my life of eating would go back to normal.  Sheesh was I wrong, dead wrong!!  Come to find out, the gums are not healing properly.  It appears 3 of the 4 areas that were grafted are healing.  The one area, which was the reason for all of this, is the one that isn't doing it's thing!  Talk about frustrating.  I feel since the packing has been removed, I have quite a bit of pain and discomfort.  This isn't supposed to be happening!  I should be moving forward not backwards, right?  I should be doing great and the areas should look great, WRONG!  I have a long road ahead, about 4-8 weeks before knowing if this is even working or will work for that matter.  About 3-4 months before cold or hot stuff doesn't send me through the roof!  The one area may fill in but at this point it's up to the Lord!  I tell ya, God graced me with pretty straight teeth, but somewhere along the way, I think He forgot about my gums!!

Welcome and Hello

As I sit here trying to come up with something intellectual to write about in this first post, my mind is drawing a blank, how embarrassing!?  What is the deal with this "first post" anxiety?  I guess I should start with a little about me,  I love the Lord and I try to live to my life to glorify Him in all that I do.  I'm a young woman, who was born and raised and currently lives on the outskirts of New Orleans.  I was home-schooled from 5th grade through senior year.  I'm a daughter to a wonderful mother who is the best cook I know, and a father who is certainly, a jack of all trades.  A sister to one talented younger brother and lastly but certainly not least, a wife to a man who loves me dearly.  After dating for 7 years, my love, Jesse and I were married on March 21, 2009.

I would like to share the things that make this world of mine..... tick!  A few of which are cooking, baking, party planning, decorating, family, holidays and yes, even cleaning!

These my friends, are my Mixins N Fixins!
